About My Music

In 2009, I completed my Bachelor of Music degree (composition major) at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, graduating with First Class Honours.

I generally write for small ensembles, such as string quartet, and also for piano solo and duet.
I enjoy writing for any instrument presented to me, from flute to accordion to marimba to laptop and beyond...

As well as chamber works, I have also written pop songs, many pieces for film and dance, and composed collaborative electro-acoustic works with Granular Synthesis Composers Collective, of which I am a founding member.

My style is very eclectic, sometimes jaunty, sometimes introspective and contemplative, and sometimes a big, fun mish-mash of styles and genres.

I present my scores in standard, as well as graphic notation. Some of my works include different types of frameworks for structured improvisation.

I believe that after I have given a score to a performer, it then begins a new journey, and I look forward to the creativity, imagination and sensitivity of each new interpretation.
